Biography and/or project

I am currently associate professor of cultural history at the Estonian Institute of Humanities and senior researcher in medieval studies at the Institute of History, both at Tallinn University.
Graduated in history and semiotics at the University of Tartu (1998); MA in medieval studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris, 1999). PhD in history at the Institute of History (Tallinn University, 2009). Author of three books and of some sixty essays and articles published in Estonian, in English and in French, and editor of seven collections of articles. Main scientific interests: cultural history of medieval Europe, medieval and contemporary historiography, historical theory, memory studies.
I’m preparing currently an edited volume in English, tentatively entitled “Afterlife of Events: Perspectives of Mnemohistory” and an “Introduction to historical theory” in Estonian.
