Biography and/or project
Ph.D student. My thesis focuses on symbolism in the romanesque area. I am aiming to analyse the working of symbolism at a time when it was predominant, and therefore to enlighten on one hand the working of representation and thinking processes in that area, and to contribute on the other hand to understanding the process of symbolism as it can function and inform reality in general. My corpus relies on work of art (mostly sculpture and mostly religious), usually already decoded by previous researchers, as well as texts, and contemporaneous sociological structures, as they are described and analysed by historians.
