Abstract
Analyzes the philosophical views of the American philosopher Maurice Mandelbaum (b. 1908) on historical events and the cognition of their causes. Mandelbaum represents the idealistic group of American critical philosophers of history who oppose materialistic and Marxist explanations of historical events.
