Zum problem von struktur und narrativität in der aufklärungshistorie

Abstract
During the Enlightenment many were intrigued by a new structural approach to history, including Vico, Voltaire, and Montesquieu, who questioned the notion of "factual" narration and rhetoric. The emerging focus on structural aspects did not, however, oppose historicism, it simply rejected structural approaches to history that could not be demonstrated "empirically.
