World/Global/Universal History And The Present Historiography

Abstract
Discusses the creation and writing of world history from ancient Greece to the 20th century on the basis of current historiography, which is largely that of the people known by the ideograph MMWMW (male, middle-aged, white, middle-class Westerner). The main themes are historiography and world history, the aims of world history, approaches to world history, macro history and macro historians, world history as interaction among civilizations, and world history as the West trying to conquer the world.
