Abstract
Discusses the role of value judgments in historical writing. Marxism provides a true relationship between historical truth and values. Although the forces of production are central to the evolution of history, the classic works of Marxism-Leninism demonstrate that this notion must not be transformed into a rigid determinism, since history clearly displays the influence of spiritual trends.
