Abstract
This article presents thegeneral lines that give outline thetheory of speech historiographic ofHayden White. It is organized intothree parts. The first exposes thedeep dimension (tropic) of speechand then explains to the aspects“technical” level of aesthetic, ethicaland epistemic, which form themanifest level. Finally, it presents twoassumptions and one implication ofhis theory of knowledge producedby historians.
