Paul Ricoeur y Hayden White: Una mirada hacia la comprensión de la narración en la Historia // [Paul Ricoeur and Hayden White: on understanding the narrative in history]

Abstract
This article seeks to review the thoughts of Paul Ricoeur and Hayden White towards the importance of narrative in History. Both authors come from different philosophical traditions; however, they both emphasize the relevance of narrative and imagination as fundamental elements for the Historical task. These concepts were devaluated for a long time due to the predominance of positivism in knowledge, and are fundamental for the understanding of the discipline. As a way to reclaim and value these thinkers’ contributions to Philosophy of History, I will present their thoughts regarding narrative, and will establish a comparison between them.
