Abstract
Presents an in-depth survey of British and American historiography and literary scholarship since the 1950's, focusing not on literary history but on the connections that should exist (and increasingly do) between the philosophy and writing of history and literary theory and criticism. Both fields share common ground and can benefit from each other's knowledge.
