Biography and/or project
I am currently finishing my PhD in history at the University of Illinois. My research interests lie at the intersection of German intellectual history and the history of science and technology around the turn of the twentieth century. My disseration examines the role of the gas mask in creating a community of national defense between 1915 and 1938. I am also interested in the possible uses for phenomenology within the historical method.
