CfP: Special Issues of the journal History of Historiography (2019-2020)

The Brazilian Society for Theory and History of Historiography invites colleagues to propose Special Issues for our journal, História da Historiografia (History of Historiography), to be organised between 2019-2020. The deadline for proposals is May 31st  2018. 

1) Requirements:

The organization will be in charge of at least 2 and a maximum of 4 guest editors; with at least one researcher from academic institutions outside Brazil; 

The special issue must have at least 4 and a maximum of 9 papers;

The proposal must contain a title, presentation, justification and schedule; 

In the case of a special issue that is already assembled, the guest editors must present the authors, titles and abstracts. 
 

2) Assessment criteria: 

The analysis and selection of proposals will be carried out by the journal's executive editors based on the clarity and coherence of the proposal and its adequacy to the journal's editorial policy (link). Priority will be given to:

- Proposals with at least 40% of papers in the English language; 
- Originality in relation to previously published HH thematic issues; 
- Relevance to current debates in Theory of History and History of Historiography; 
 

3) Guest editors attributions: 

Carry out wide dissemination with the support of the journal's office; 
Evaluate or distribute the texts to reviewers, according to the journal guidelines; 
Write an introduction that besides presenting the articles, problematize the theme chosen from a historiographic point of view; 
Inform the executive editors about the progress of the special issue organization process; 
It is optional for the guest editors to submit papers to the special issue. 


4) Editorial policy of the special issues: 

Proposals must be submitted through the e-mail: historiadahistoriografia@hotmail.com

Two special issues will be selected.
