Abstract
Este artículo se propone iniciar una indagación alrededor de la presencia que ha adquirido nuevamente la historia en el ámbito público. Con tal propósito, pretende distinguir las condiciones políticas y culturales que fueron consustanciales a su anterior y prolongado despliegue, de las que actualmente permitieron su reaparición. A la vez, argumenta que la mutación afectó al mismo orden del discurso de la historia que, aun en esta nueva situación, ya no ocupa un lugar rector en la producción de sentido. Dar cuenta de la tarea de la así llamada divulgación obliga a trazar este nuevo campo de fuerzas.
Abstract
This article aims to offer some initial thoughts on the renewed presence of history within the
public sphere. It seeks to distinguish between the cultural and political conditions that were
inseparable from its previous deployment and the ones that have given rise to its current reemergence.
At the same time, the article argues that this mutation has affected the nature of the
very discourse of history, which, even within this current environment, no longer plays a
leading role in the production of meaning. Examining this new set of intellectual
and political forces is vital to the so-called dissemination of culture outside academia
