Abstract
Having established the connection between Fallibilism, prophecy and Moderate Evidentialism in Islamic philosophy in Chap. 2, I now explore the political implications of such a view. In particular, I show how the view can give us the resources for a unique critique of modern liberalism, but at the same time eschew the views of such anti-liberal, so-called ‘extremist’ thinkers as Sayyed Qutb. Under this view, extremist belief ends up being thought of as over-confidence in one’s credences, as having the level of confidence that only the prophet is warranted in having.
