Jouni-Matti Kuukkanen and Post-Narrativism]

Abstract
Since the 1970 s,narrativism has become a powerful trend in academia, replacing “analytic historical philosophy”and occupying a dominant position in the field of philosophy of history. However,in the past few years,as this theoretical upsurge has gradually faded,it is no longer at the center of scholarly discussion. A group of scholars have begun to explore new research issues. Jouni-Matti Kuukkanen clearly proposed that the philosophy of history should transcend the approach of narrativism and enter a stage of reinnovation, that is,the stage of post-narrativism. The “post”in “post-narrativism”does not mean the complete rejection of narrativism. Instead, it inherits some ideas from narrativism. New theoretical development should be based on a reassessment and critical examination of these ideas.
