Why is “New Translation History” Possible_On the relationship between Translation and History]

Abstract
Western centralism has left a deep methodological mark on the study of Chinese translation history. Reflecting on the research paradigm similar to the “impact-response” model in the translation circle in recent years, it is necessary to put forward a research path of “new translation history”. The relationship between translation and history is the logical starting point for the study of “new translation history”. China's translation history is mainly composed of literary translation, Buddhist literature translation, national translation and two western translation activities. Historically, translation is a cultural act of introducing heterogeneous civilizations into local civilizations and a cultural activity oriented to cultural exchanges and mutual learning.
