Criticizes the proposals of the so-called Elias school, named after the German sociologist Norbert Elias (1897-1990), to reform the study of history on the occasion of the publication of 'Human History and Social Process' (1989) by its informal leaders Johan Goudsblom, E. L. Jones, and Stephen Mennell. These proposals are considered paradoxical, since in attempting to overcome the main defects of traditional sociology and history, these defects in fact are duplicated. Therefore, the proposed transformation must be regarded as a failure based on dogmatism and a self-imposed closure from the outer intellectual world.
