Theodoros Pelekanidis

Biography and/or project

First time that I wondered what history is was during my studies in History and Archaeology in Aristoteleio University of Thessaloniki. I needed two masters, in modern history and in modern political theory and philosophy, to start understanding that the question was harder to answer than I have imagined! The first one was too “traditional” and this is why I turned in the field of philosophy. The concepts of postmodernism attracted my attention and I should admit that this was done more because they are provocative than because they are well founded. I am now PhD student in Humboldt University in Berlin, writing my thesis titled “The postmodern critique on classical historiography and the example of the Holocaust: philosophy of history as a means of political emancipation” still not knowing anything and still trying to show that I have learned something.
