The aim of this paper is to discuss the possible methodological contributions of theFrench philosopher Michel Foucault to the humanities. To achieve our aim will bereviewed only works when the French philosopher devoted to history, both in purelymethodological aspects, as in its practical aspects, i.e in research. Our ultimate goal isto realize that by adopting the historical method, Foucault sought to make acontribution to the method of philosophical thought.
